Some empty cod drying racks. Those are probably for making Buknafisk, the winter unsalted dried cod. Summer outdoor dried cod is salted, and is called Klippfisk. The racks are called Hjell, or flake in English. We are in a very nice diesel Volvo station wagon, by the way, driven patiently by Knut-Martin, my cousin Anita's husband.
