Here you can see the remains of a big forest fire, it's very pretty. Don't believe the nonsense about preventing forest fires, if you prevent them, dry stuff builds up and the consequent fires are really bad. Also, the undergrowth gets too thick. Here you start to see a healthier forest ecosystem than most of the rest of the southern part of Point Reyes, which desperately needs a big fire. The indians/first nations people used to burn the forests routinely as a form of management.
