Day 1 – Lava Lake Trailhead to South Matheu Lake

Day 1 - I started late, and got to the Lava Lake trailhead at about 5pm. That's my trusty but feeble rental car, a chevy spark, a bad honda fit clone. It was a few miles to the lake. This lake is a bit north of the North Sister, and intersects, briefly, the Pacific Crest Trail.
Route: Highway 126 to 242, East to Lava Lake Trailhead parking. Trail 4062 to South Matheu Lake, past North Matheu Lake.
